The UKMCS is an organisation created to help advance the diagnosis and management of cardiac disease in pregnancy through awareness, education and research, in order to support the delivery of high quality, safe and equitable maternal cardiology care nationally and internationally.

Our membership represents healthcare professionals actively involved in the care of women with cardiac disease in pregnancy or research in this field. Membership of the UK Maternal Cardiology Society is divided into three categories best suited to the maternal cardiac workforce, including those retired and persons from organisations and charities involved in the support of women and families affected by cardiac disease in pregnancy.

    The UK Maternal Cardiology Society (UKMCS) aims to improve the management of heart disease during pregnancy through education, awareness, and research, with a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration and equitable care. 

    This year, the highlights include maternal medicine bundles, updates from heart failure in pregnancy, aortic dissection and case discussions.

  • UKMCS Conference Abstract Submissions - Now Open!

    We are accepting abstracts and particularly welcome submissions from resident doctors, nurses, and midwives. These can be case studies, audits, or research relevant to maternal cardiology. If selected, abstracts may be asked to present a poster or short oral presentation. Abstracts should be 250 words maximum. Submissions must be sent to ukmcs@bcs.com
    Deadline for abstract submission is midday on September 11 2026.
